  • Experiments for assessment of fishing gear efficiency.
  • Mesh selectivity study with cod end cover.

Survey and Research Objectives

  • Preparation of species inventory of demersal fishery resources.
  • Estimation of abundance index of demersal fishery resources and the major components thereof, with emphasis on threadfin bream, catfish, mackerel, scads, goatfishes, perches, Silverbellies, bullseye and croakers.
  • Identifying spatio-temporal distribution pattern of the resources.
  • Study of biological parameters of important species.
  • Stock assessment of important resources.
  • Imparting training in fishing techniques and demonstrations of modern equipments on board to the fishermen, fishing industry representative and entrepreneurs.
