Survey and Research Objectives
- Preparation of species inventory of demersal fishery resources.
- Estimation of abundance index of demersal fishery resources and the major components thereof, with emphasis on threadfin bream, catfish, mackerel, scads, goatfishes, perches, Silverbellies, bullseye and croakers.
- Identifying spatio-temporal distribution pattern of the resources.
- Study of biological parameters of important species.
- Stock assessment of important resources.
- Imparting training in fishing techniques and demonstrations of modern equipments on board to the fishermen, fishing industry representative and entrepreneurs.
