Database

With the data generated in surveys over the decades, the FSI has built up a strong database on fishery resources in the Indian EEZ. The current data holding in electronic format consists of Catch Data of 102892 records and Species Data of 425909 records as on 31/12/2021. About 2000 records are being added annually to the data storage consisting Catch Data and Species Data.

Data Products

The data collected are processed and published in the form of Resource Information Series, Bulletins, Reports, Charts, Atlases, Occasional papers etc. from time to time. These data products cater to the needs of a wide spectrum of end users. For details go to Publications.

Extension and User Interaction

Besides dissemination of survey findings in the form of publications, FSI organizes workshops, open houses and exhibitions in different maritime states for the benefit of fishermen, fishing boat operators and those engaged in fishing and allied activities. At the national level, symposia and workshops are organized as a platform for interaction with the industry, development agencies, R&D institutions, scientists, administrators and policy makers.
